CURRENT CHARITY OF THE MONTH: August 2013
UNITED SPORTSMEN'S YOUTH FOUNDATION

For the month of August, we have chosen to donate to the United Sportsmen's Youth Foundation, USYF. USYF is a local not for profit organization that is devoted to preserving the land for future generations, specifically in areas of rapid development, while educating the community on land preservation. Working to unite sportsmen, agriculture, and communities, USYF is actively involved in volunteering time and resources to preserve the land in the surrounding areas. Currently, the USYF is planning its 9 th Annual Pecatonica River Cleanup, to happen on August 28, 2013. This cleanup will involve several volunteers cleaning garbage and toxic waste from a 100 mile stretch of the river, from the Wisconsin state line to Pecatonica.

For more information on the cleanup, or if you'd like to volunteer or donate to the organization, please contact USYF at [email protected] The USYF accepts donations in the form of money, art, guns, knives, any titled vehicles (boats, cars, trucks, etc.), decoys, hunts, fishing trips, pheasants, etc. to raise money at their banquets.

During this month, our office will donate $1 to USYF for each new fan the Brad Tengler Law Office facebook page receives. All funds generated will be used to "secure and manage local huntable habitat, and teach our kids about the outdoor sports." Please visit the USYF official website at www.usyf.com for any additional information.

PREVIOUS CHARITY OF THE MONTH: July 2013
CHILDREN'S SAFE HARBOR

We were happy to donate $104 to Children's Safe Harbor in August. Children's Safe Harbor is a non-profit organization that provides a neutral place for parents to exchange children for court ordered visitation/custody purposes. In using these services, parents are protected from the possibility of dangerous or compromising situations arising, such as in the case of families of domestic abuse, or order of protection cases. Children's Safe Harbor is funded by private donations and public funding. Public funding is provided through civil filing fees of the residents of Winnebago County. If you are interested in helping support Children's Safe Harbor financially, you can make a private donation by visiting their webpage at www.childrentssafeharbor.net.

PREVIOUS CHARITY OF THE MONTH: Mar - April, 2013
NORTHEASTERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY - ENGLISH DEPARTMENT

For our March and April charity of the month event, we chose Northeastern Illinois University's English Department. We are proud to announce that based on the great increase in facebook fans during the months of January and February, we were able to make a final donation of $350 to NEIU. NEIU, founded in 1867, is a fully accredited public university offering more than 80 undergraduate and graduate programs/majors, including a thriving English department. This department, in addition to providing excellent teaching and support, offers students the chance to participate in several extracurricular programs to enhance their English skills. Among these programs include Seeds, a Literary Arts Journal, and Sigma Tau Delta, the prestigious international English honor society.

For more information about NEIU's English department, please visit their website at http://www.neiu.edu/~edepartm/englishclubs.html. Thank you to all who participated in this event by becoming a fan of the Brad Tengler Law Office facebook page!

PRAIRIE STATE LEGAL SERVICES

For our January and February charity of the month event, we chose to highlight Prairie State Legal Services. Thank you to all of the people who participated in this event by liking our facebook page. We are happy to support this wonderful cause!

Since 1977, the mission of Prairie State has been "to provide or coordinate the delivery of high quality legal services to low-income individuals, families and groups." Through the efforts of volunteer attorneys and staff members, Prairie State has helped hundreds of elderly, disabled, and poor individuals who have needed legal assistance in their civil cases yet don't have the financial means to hire an attorney. Prairie State runs off of private donations and volunteer services from qualified individuals, with support from local United Ways, state, and federal funding. We encourage all who are inspired by Prairie State to visit their webpage at www.pslegal.org for more information, and for further instructions on how to make a personal donation.

LITTLE HANDS MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE

For November 9, 2012 to December 31, 2012, we chose the local charity Little Hands Make a Big Difference to be our charity of the month.
