Is Adultery Illegal In the State of Illinois?

Apr 26, 2021 | Divorce, Family Law, Firm News

According to Illinois law, adultery is in fact illegal. However, since the year 2016, Illinois has been a “no-fault divorce” state. This means that in filing for a divorce, solely irreconcilable differences need to be proved. Adultery may be the reason irreconcilable differences arise, but it is no longer accepted as grounds for divorce.
