Internet and digital technologies have had impacts on a great many things in our world. This includes impacts on the way people meet partners.
Online dating got started in the 1990’s and has been steadily gaining steam since then. It is now one of the most common ways people meet. Also, a fair amount of modern marriages have online dating at their root. It has been estimated that around one of every three marriages start online in today’s world.
Research has been conducted looking into what impacts the rise of online dating may be having within society when it comes to marriage. Among the societal changes the research suggests the rising prominence in online dating could lead to are increases in interracial marriages and increases in the general strength of marriages.
What do you think the future will see when it comes to online dating and its effects on society?
In addition to big impacts in the realm of relationships and marriages, modern technology has also had major implications regarding divorce. For example, the rise of social media has given rise to new concerns and potential sources of evidence in divorces. For example, in some instances, what photos or posts a spouse puts up on their social media sites could be a significant issue in a divorce. When issues regarding social media or other newer technologies become big ones in a divorce, a divorcing person may want a skilled divorce attorney’s guidance on the issues and how to navigate them.
